  • Wrightsville Beach | A special place for pictures

    Wrightsville Beach is probably the first beach island that people think about when they hear Wilmington NC. For sure the more well know beach as Wrightsville Beach is the closest to Wilmington. One of the things I like most about Wrightsville Beach for photography, and there are lots of things to like, iFor starters there is the “South End” also know as access #43. This is a photography hot spot. Whether it be for engagement photography, wedding photography, family photography and portraits, senior pictures, and or a lifestyle photography session, the South End of Wrightsville Beach is awesome. One of the draws of the south end is that it is unlike most of the Carolina beach line in that there are wide open areas with natural sand dunes and sea grass that make for an awesome backdrop.

    There is nowhere in the region that is like the south end ( Access #43 ) where there is wide open areas of white sand that does not have a row of houses behind it. This allows for some great sunset pictures at the beach because you can get the natural landscape and beauty of of the beach without the issue of shooting around ocean front homes. This is perfect for engagements, lifestyle photography, bridal portraits, and family portrait sessions.

    The South End of Wrightsville Beach is not the only place for great photography back drops. Johnny Mercer Pier is another great location. Probably the most iconic pier in the region. It is also the most photographed. Some of our favorite engagement sessions took place at Johnny Mercers as the cement pier and pilings create a unique depth, texture and composition to the ocean front.

    In addition to the oceanside of the island, Wrightsville Beach has incredible views of the inter coastal water way. If you are looking for boats to be in the backdrop of your photos then you will have plenty of options to create that nautical theme. So for Wrightsville Beach Photographers there are so many locations to photograph family portraits and lifestyle sessions.
